In the past-hope it helps others

invaded through darkness

no longer a place for restful sleep

a mouth with no words and hands with no reach

a soul stiffens with each thrust

weeping for its voice

there is no more self

in the reflection of a rapist's eyes

you see them everywhere in you

in the mistakes you think you made

to deserve it

corridors shudder with flapping pictures

of life untouched and perfect

we give life away and give death a life

routine and ritual another one dies

alive, inside of me

no one to hold or cry or just stay stop

but to push and to coax and to steal

your peace and innocence and soul

no one -

no one to hold on cold steel

and crinkled white paper

in opening eyes and burning insides

a slice and then

where have i gone?

backseat body curled up like that fetus

just left behind

only it's mine

and I am crying for the death of my hope

the death of those souls

the pain too much i lie there writihing

while he shops for motorcycle parts

and pretends everything is ok

(it never is)

Very good message in your poem. You are very talented. I feel the emotion in this poem like it is screaming out to me, which is exactly what a poem should do. I also understand "(it never is)"...

-- there is such raw emotion conjured up here -- fear, hope dashed with a monster's crush -- the privacy of a human soul invaded by a loathsome individual sans morals and compassion -- the only salvation is absolute forgiveness of the bikers trespass on their soul -- this is truly the meaning of, emotional grief --JMW

You are brave to express yourself so honestly, Michelle. And it may well be that your sharing will indeed help others. I really do not feel worthy of commenting on such an experience. I extend my sincere thanks for your sharing of it. Your verses touch the soul of this reader. Love, hugs, and best wishes,

Regis xo

Only one who has been there can understand the tears, the pain in these words - of living a lie - pretending everything's okay when it's not - it's not - tears running down my face for your pain, my own rememberance -

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

I feel I'm an intruder here but one who can't resist the passions and confessions explored and delivered. Very fine, very fine indeed.

Deeply intense and painful subject but one you tackled and handled with a sense of purpose. Sad but also powerfully moving.

A very overbearing pain that never really ever ceases and so the one who has been hurt must learn to live with the pain and keep it sheltered. A most heartwrenching piece....

Be always safe,

Cathartic, Michelle...endurance of a lifetime this healing takes, which will outlive the deed...if only the flower petals of May could soften the thorn which pains...a revelation that is much more painful and weighs heavy on the soul if it is locked away and not shared to help others who have been taken against their will...be well.

Love,
Sage
