Rough weathered hands holding drifting sands
in palms that have seen much and time and hopes
so many places I haven’t been or been blessed to know
kissing hearts and scars and torn canvas you paint
your fingertips dotting across my breasts in shell pink
rest there your head and listen to me sighing for you
a night’s hunt across waves and rocky paths desires strewn
my mouth wanting to know the inches you place before me
and trace across those lands unknown with hands untied
disappearing with a new wind scattering years on sand dunes
my bare chest clinging to the back I will watch depart shoeless
black wings to bow before the night comes scooping up these pieces
denim beneath and hands to loosen zippers into places I crave
again and again this wave to rise within me the push and pull
into me deep to crest once more before the rising to start again
we followed the coastline to where words became lightning
and you sang to me there of the coral sleeping in my hair
and I closed my eyes with my head on your thighs, glowing
my man in the moon of dreams sheltered from sun
of stars once begun on this one passion’s lost run
I will always follow when you come into the caves, calling
call me again in echoes across the small of my back
the curve of my belly still wearing the letters of your name
come now, and swallow each one before the waves wash them away

agree somewhat with Harry that the poem might benefit from a
little editing to tighten it up a bit. But--whatta I know?
This is very publishable and even more so as the reader can tell it comes directly from the heart and soul which matters more in poetry than little picky things that have no real merit.
