Where They Lived

OK, here is part 3. I am barely awake, so if this is crap, i will find out in the morning-excuse any stupid mistakes, please, lol.

could two houses be as one?

they wondered as they sat,

him with his old guitar,

and her with her grey cat

when the brave house upon the hill

decided he'd come down,

the shy lady in the meadow

began to dance around

she had waited for this day,

for one able to build anew,

to share what he had in plenty,

and take the things she grew

board by board he shared himself,

and she opened up her door,

they gathered by her fireplace,

and discussed their dreams galore

a bit of his strong and sturdy,

mixed with some of her light and grace,

and together they created a mansion,

and then had to share their place

a bed and breakfast they became

and they shouted it aloud,

from upon their very rooftops

(their joining made them proud)

it amazed the people who stopped to see,

what two houses can create,

when joined as one (under the sun)

no, it never is too late!

dreams can come true (believe it, too)

when "old" combines with "new"

down by the farm, with all its charm

where happiness once grew

It's a lovely point of view, Michelle, and you deliver it very well. I particularly liked, "a bit of his strong and sturdy, mixed with some of her light and grace" ...very fine expression.

Excellent use of relationships, interchanging them with metaphors to show the vitality and love that is built over time. I think what this showed the most-to me-was that relationships aren't the house after the vows are said, but are built board-by-board. Beautiful poem!

"a bit of his strong and sturdy -- mixed with some of her light and grace" -- says quite a lot -- a beautiful poem and you wrote in early morn -- bravo -- JMW

Well, at least I know that there are two crappy people out there who can't understand good poetry reading. Perhaps their reviews are not as they think they should be. Thank you for this beautiful poem.

I love it as I believe anything is possible Michelle. If two work TOGETHER they can make all things possible. Thank you for sharing.

If this is crap then pass me my rubbers for I want to stomp around in it, this tied the first two poems together perfectly and is so very publishable. The three parts are such wonderful and uplifting metahphors of life, love and what can be created out of hopelessness when we try. Well done Michelle, I am impressed.

Beautifully penned, even with being sleepy. Not crap: stunning joining of his and hers. =] If I could write like this when barely awake...sigh. Well done, Michelle.

(((HUGS))) and love, Karla.

You may be barely awake, sweetie girl. Your poetic presentation here belies that. I go back and read again. Clearly I am right. This is fine poetry that expresses a lot beyond the obvious. Thank you for sharing this gift, Michelle. Love and blessings to you...

Regis
