Though the forest embraced the lavender hued dusk
it was slow to kiss firmly the dark lips of the night
for fear that a fickle lover it may turn out to be
and leave at the breath of the first morning light
In a wide clearing beside the silver leafed pond
where wild branches guard with fingers spread
to then reveal in an instant the fauns odd dance
in bows and circles where the nymphs had tread
Not moments before soft voices could be heard
by any passing ear that may have dared to hear
this taunting song of fair nymphs desire bound
who reckless ignore the poor fauns their fear
Much more to do when the long shade affords
a darkened spot in which to steal a tender kiss
that ignites far warmer fires when stoked slow
until passions unleashed grow too hard to resist
"Chase me, chase me!" their sweet voices cried
these pink-cheeked nymphs who lead the way
for fauns with foolish hearts they followed fast
thus with the chains of lust were gladly led astray

Always bright blessings to you,

This is a painting I'm quite familiar with and your eloquent poem very much echoes my sentiments about it, I feel a strong almost strange affinity with your words and I thank you for that. This is fine work.
