This poem is based on a true meeting. A man who is in need of understanding and not criticism.

I met a man kind and true
Betrayed by the one he loved.
A man with the light of his soul
extinguished.
He wanders aimlessly now,
Searching for answers.
Answers that will never come.
His love destroyed the light within his soul and she will never tell him why.
And so he wanders without purpose looking for the answers that will give him peace.
Questions there are many,
Answers there are few if any.
These questions haunt him day and night.
But the one with the answer will never tell.
She speaks not a word of kindness to him.
She only attempts to rend and destroy his already tattered and battered heart and soul.
He needs a a kind, gentle, and generous soul to bring him peace and rekindle the flame of his soul.

A compassionate poem, very humane.

You know, a lawyer once told me that men "never saw it coming". When women ask for a divorce, the most common reaction he hears is "why is this happening, I thought we were doing fine".

It is also my experience that men don't always listen, until the breaking point.

But these are general statements that don't always apply, of course.

Best regards,

Axilea

"Time heals all wounds," as the saying goes. Hopefully this kind and true man will reach out to God, Who is reaching out to him. He welcomes the downtrodden and brings light back into their lives.
A very sad story, well-told.

Welcome to the Den,
Connie

I've lived quite a few years, most with my eyes wide open observing, including several continuous years on a daily basis in what used to be termed Divorce Court and more customarily nowadays is known as Family Court. It is a painful experience just to observe the heartache that comes with love lost and/or betrayed. It does mean and wicked things to your soul. Major depression is one most often seen.

To have a kind and generous friend to lend an ear with heartfelt understanding is invaluable.

This friend of yours, Ann--even in this terrible hour of his--is fortunate beyond belief to have you as his friend. I hope he comes to understand your feeling for him and the depth of your caring attention.

I have lived this poem myself, several times over!!!

There are people out there in the world, who will suck the very dieing breath out of you, If you allow them to. However, I, choose to dig deep inside and find the reason for my life. Which did not come, until I gave it all to the Lord Jesus Christ. Let's pray that he will do the same.

God Bless~God Speed~

I have met so many men our age like this and what's not fair is that they are usually to afraid to trust again when I say if I can trust myself I can trust another. Know this story well. Good luck and hope to read lot's more of your work. Lady J
