Pen and paper, feelings written down
Emotions on paper flitting around
Feelings on paper on the ground
Feelings on paper blown on the street
Being trampled by the hurrying feet
Pen and paper keep me sane
Keeping silent unless read
Never whispering a single word
Not even to the twilight sky.
Pen and paper unless read
Will keep my secrets, all unsaid
When kept from prying eyes
No one will know, no one will see
That all these things came from me
Secrets safe, secrets sound
Secrets hidden, written down
Emotions, feelings, secrets written down
Hopefully, hopefully never found.
Poetry is such a lovely name
For a pastime to keep me sane
Words flit in and out, like birds,
Escaping lest they be captured
Forever on a snow-white page.

For a pastime to keep me sane
And may it continue to do so, for a very long time.
A word I wish I knew the meaning of.
