Semper Fidelis

I saw you in the clouds today
No dissipating kangaroo
No fleeting legless horse
Floating into nothingness.

You stayed with me
Steadfast...
The whole of you...until I could see
Until I could breathe.

You stayed with me
Steadfast...
Until choked and whimpering
I could whisper Your name.

You stayed with me 
Until healing tears were spent
Replaced with the assurance
That you remained...
Semper Fi.  

Go now...
Dance on legs of freedom

I have known Marines that had inside their hearts something more precious than their own lives...the memory of her, that, like an adrenaline shot, helped them to have renewed strengths to survive another day on the battle fields.
Semper Fi??? oh yes! to the Corp and to her.
