we miss so many treasures some have to offer...too busy to uncover

Be watchful for abandoned gardens
Some hold unseen treasures
Debris covered gifts of value
Too precious to measure

You just may be the soft wind
Moving layers of neglect
Exposing tender shoots of hope
Worth the effort to protect

...such a soft, penetrating little write. I like that phrase, "tender shoots of hope"--so vulnerable, young, and full of promise.

I read you bio. I started here the same way--with the death of a very beloved mother. There was so much angst inside. And though I usually turned to music to route out my emotions, I needed to write. It was the only thing to free the pain. Now, a few years later, I'm feeling much better, and have to work harder to write. Words aren't spilling over anymore. However, words are a work and a wonder, and it's a wonder how they work--working words into wonders seems to be your specialty, however. So put those little word-wonders to work. And drop me a line whenever you want an in-depth review. Thanks for stopping by. --Charlie

I love the imagery. Ray Bradbury used metaphors long before he knew what they were. I suspect you learned early.

Ya just never know do you, on a lot of different levels. I did recover once some very old rose bushes from an abandoned KOA park. Original colors and blooms no longer in nurserys. Nicely done Pat.

"...be watchful for abandoned gardens..." and offer a tear to their thirty soil and wait for that hidden seed to say thank you with a green smile.

So true. Often times I've heard bigotry and hate towards another due to colour, creed, country and ever size, yet from the likes one finds true friends and a richness that is priceless.

You Look FatCalgary by RickthePoetWarrior

Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
