Neglecting my charges
I wander off the trail
Quickly returning
To find they'd gone
I search but to no avail

Pointless to travel on
Without them
I sit frozen in time
Waiting with sad remorse
For these wonderful charges of mine

At last I see them returning
Some followed...some led
Ah there you are
I thought I'd lost you
Now stay close with me till we get there
Then we can all go to bed.
