I'm not quite sure what the 'foolish woman' wants to hear. 'I love you' - maybe. They both sound as if they are in love and necessary to each other. A lovely relationship. Laurel

The words aren't there, but she would have to be blind not to know they are his motivation.

Many men do not know how to say vocally 'I love you'. They feel that by doing is showing love. But a woman is not foolish just because she wishes to hear those three, most beautiful words in the world. I never leave my daughters homes, or hang up the phone from talking to them without saying I love you.

No she isn't a foolish woman, she just wants her husband to tell her that he loves her. We long every day to hear those three beautiful words, but most times from our mates they are not forthcoming.

It doesn't matter what we do to make the other see that we love them, there are also those times when a woman needs to hear, 'I love you'. Thank you for sharing, Pat.

Beautifully captures the situation of many couples, I think. She needs to hear what is hard for him to say, but he is saying it in everything he does.

Nice work...there is that deep emotional voice that expresses from within the normality of relationships her hurt her visual acceptance and her desire to hear just a taste of that love whispered after the acceptance of lifes reality...

I would say there are men who are deaf in the actions speak louder than words department too. well written...like, whistles their love song...still hasn't heard. ~ Morgan

If words are what she has to have and not considering all the rest, she is an idiot. Also during the poem (which I enjoyed, I'm just picking) don't recall her saying anything along those lines either.
