Is your house a mess your family's a zoo Has your husband skipped out with the mortgage past due? Have they turned off your water tomorrow the lights? Have cobwebs in the bedroom claimed squatters rights? Well now, listen... I'll loan to you my glasses of a rose-colored hue They're designed so reality will never spoil the view. Cobwebs look like art-work No water?...wine will do. The kids will appear as cherubs not aliens from the zoo Some may whisper 'denial' but that's not exactly true ... you'll see clearly ole hubbys leaving was long-ass overdue Wear my rose-colored glasses not a cure...simply a delay just wear them till you're stronger then pass them on one day

Excellent poem Pat!
You know what? I have crows feet from so much squinting and trying to see the world without my pair of glasses.

Pat, A few "rose-colored glasses" of wine and "random" play on the stereo has gotten me through some sad times, so I guess we're drinking the same Kool-Aid.... just different motivations.

Cute. There is only one thing with those rose-colored glasses, it filters out reality. Hah! But it sure as heck made for one damn good poem that put a smile on my face, especially when that sorry husband's leaving was "long-ass overdue." Gotta love it!
