went to the doc today
had ta'hear what he had to say

he asked me...
"you ever thought about your liver?"
i said "no doc... what does that deliver?"

he asked..."how much do you drink?"

i paused and wanted ta' lie...

but i didn't

hell why try...

i drink 'till i stink

so i answered..."ok doc...
i drink a lot"

he looked at me and shook his head
then he said..."go ahead."

"but if you do, before your thru
you'll be dead...and that be the true ...the choice is up to you."

so i came away
straight away
and bought a fifth
just so i could understand the man
damn

quit drinkin'
or start sinkin'

won't live
forever
so forget my liver

have another round on me

we both did decide
to slip & slide
