tonight
today
wish as i may or i might
i have 'nuthin to say

long lost words & thoughts
phrases
shoulda's & coulda's & ought's
phase's & haze's
and what i bought

but no poetry

least not that i can see

words run together
they gather
there in my mind
but i can't seem to find

a poem

it's lost out there
somewhere
in the air

in the back of my mind

so i just sit and stare

at this screen
know what i mean?

what could i say
anyway
that would make today
any other way?

things that i've lost
payin' the cost
of livin' & givin'
to words that i've lost

old poems
old ryhmes
they do it every time
they blow my mind
'cause they ain't that kind
to hang around
'till you've found
their sound

tonight
today
wish i had sumpin' to say
instead
all i read
all i could write
today...tonight
was word play
try as i might

about today
and tonight
but i just might
write
a poem or 2
before this day & night be thru

that is after all
my fall
that is what i do
i write for you
and me
can't you see
