tomorrow
we felt out sorrow
of my mom passin's on
to heaven she be gone
so we be dealin'
we be healin'
we be feelin'
he & i
on Father's Day
this year
she did die
June 13th
but why this year
give us this tear
on Father's Day
for he & i
why do we have to do
what we have to do
say "good-bye" agin
and begin
a new
what do we do
he & i
why?
do have to say "good-bye" again
& begin
to live agin'
He & I
we give it a try
what can we say
on Father's Day
when 1 year ago
we let go
now we know
she's gone
end of that song
and He & me
we see
this probably be
his last Father's Day
anyway
for we
He be dyin'
though he be tryin'
i be cryin'
ain't no use in lyin'
nor wonderin' whyin'
I lost my mother in '85, so I know what you mean, but my father's still alive and kicking. He was so mean when I was growing up that I figured he'd live to be at least 100, but he's only 83, and I don't know if he'll make it or not. I enjoyed your write anyway.
I lost my mom 1.5 years ago, and my dad last September, so you can imagine this brought tears to my eyes when I realized this will be my first Fathers Day without him. Cool poem. Cherish the memories.

Let this coming of age story of a boy named Bean take you back to a simple time. Set in a small southern town in the 1960's, encircled by a river and gleaming white cotton fields.
