my first born
you've never been a thorn
in my side
seem's like you've always been
there by my side
did'nt try to hide away
thru thick & thin
what can i say
anyway

my fondest memory
of you & me
was rockin' in a rockin' chair
just you & me there
hell, you were barely here

me holdin' you in my arms
feelin' your baby charms
rockin' away
what can i say
i still remember that day

you'd only been alive
a few days or 2
what was i to do?
i was only 22

since then
i've made my mistakes
wrong choices
wrong voices
but for love's sakes
thru thick & thin

sometimes
i wish i could go back when

start over
do a do over
find that 4 leaf clover

but i can't
it ain't
that i wouldn't
i just couldn't

now your all grown
with 2 of your own
problems with health
not enuff' wealth

but you be there
when i call
after all

where my family begin'
