a song in my life
you were my first wife

we were so young
when first we met
and yet
it was our song to be sung

we had our own song
then it went wrong
then it was gone

i apologize
now i realize
the damage i done
when i went on the run

tryin' to "find me"
i lost us and the "we"

but what is done
is done
it ain't much fun
bein' on the run

but thank you
for bein' true
to the end
back when
i was a bad boy back then
