it's 1 in the mornin'
or at least almost
not much rhyme to this poet tonight
i seem to have lost sight
lost my light
see
my dad was 85 today
anyway
i've been takin'
care of he & my mom
who passed away last year
i shed a tear
for the last 3 years
i been here's
now his time is near
beeen a sleep
since 10pm
woke up
and had the thought
"what are you gonna' do
when this is all thru?"
i haven't a clue.
man.
i'm almost 55
i'm still alive
and i have no clue
what i'm gonna' do
guess that time is past due
got 2 x's
6 kids
so far 6 grand kids
and all i've done
when it's said & done
is hid
away
but someday
anyway
anyday
now
somehow
i have to figger out how
to go on with NOW
i find mySelf
in the middle of the night
checkin' on my Dad
how sad...
is he still breathin...
still alive?
that ain't no way to survive.
i ain't lyin'
i be cryin'
'cause i don't know
no way to show...
Ah Steve, I can relate to this so well, maybe sit back, enjoy the grandkids, Learn something new, do something you always wanted to but never had the time, grow a garden, thats my plan, take it easy, write these wonderful poems you do so well,
The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.
