i've watched my Life pass
from the bottom of a glass

minit by meant-it
i would spin it
give it a stir
as it were
i'd watch it pass

hour by hour
i'd feel it's power
over me
but i couldn't

my Life pass

day by day
Life passed it's way
and there i lay
not ac-Know-ledging
a thing
except that it pass
there at the bottom of the glass

month by month
my glass runneth
over & over & over
tweren't no do over
as i watched it pass
there, from the bottom of a glass

year by year
tear by tear
fear by fear
i'd see it pass
there, from the bottom of a glass

1's too many
1,000's not enuff
if i had any
i'd keep drinkin' the stuff
until out i'd pass

and so
i know
as my Life does pass
it's all there, at the bottom of a glass

i know i should change
re-arrange
my priorities
but ain't it strange
you see's
i can't find MY Self
somewhere other than Top Shelf

as i grow old
or so i'm told
get outta' that past
it can't last
forget the spell it's cast
so let it pass
lookin' at Life
will only 'cause you srife
there, at the bottom of a glass

but what would i see
if i looked at Me
from any other direction
certainly not perfection
by any die-section

so i know
i let it show
as each day pass
