went to the grocery
store
today
what can i say
what a bore
anyway
won't do it no more
least not
except for what i forgot
i bought the store

all the paper things
that bell does it ring?
napkin's
plates
toilet tissue
if you wish two
no i thinkn it be 12
double ply
hell i hate shitin' on my hand
there is a place i take a stand
so at my place
you can eat
or shit
got it?

bought my-self
a new tooth brush
time to shake off that old tooth's dust
i must

also bought some Listerine
ain't that keen
now my breath
will past the test
of death
still smokin' too'
don't you know
so will Listerine do

frozen or pre-fried
i did buy
can's & bottles
buyin' full throttle
i weren't gonna' cottle
to the cost
hey i be the boss
it's my $$$ i lost

even red meat
ain't that neat
that be a treat
yeah pre-cooked chicken too
a got a breast or 2 or 3 maybe 4
hell i'm sure
i'll cook it
we'll eat um
afterall, i ain't no dum dumb
as i hum-humm
chiken tonight
ain't that a D-light

even bought some vegiTables
cook um as i'm ables
when i'm stables

got my dad
his bis-q-it's
sausage & eggs
those things he beggs 4
that be 4 sure

plenty of preserves
in reserves

even his his peanut butter
a special kind
smooth
but then i utter
i can't find
a woman so smooth
she don't cross my mind

(did you like that?)

hell, i gave up
on tryin' to find
a rhyme
to my reason
a time
to my be's
a "smooth"
peanut butter
is there any other
but i gave up
on tryin' to find
a woman as smooth
as peanut butter

(yeah i know that don't rhyme)

i bought these pre-cooked things
chicken with wings
hamburgers
and all these cassaRolls
that the microwave thing brings
but there ain't no sugars
there ain't no roll's
in the hay
each day
but hey,
they still b quick
and thick to the bone
yeah, i know i'm still all alone

i know it does
save time
but where is the us
where is the rhyme
in a microwave world
where is the Pearl?

what a bore
goin' to
the groceery store.

livin' in a microwave world

can you ever find a pearl?

not at the grow-sir-me-store
what a bore.

Very good creative write, Steve! Hahaha, some people love to go grocery shopping. They load up and stock their shelves and refridgerators and feel secure ... and happy! Hmm, I must be talking about myself!

I like pre-cooked bar-b-cue chicken from Loblaws, they're CA$6.99 for one, and I like Kraft Crunchy Peanut Butter, they're CA$4.59 each, toilet paper 12 rolls on sale for CA$2.99, a box of pre-cooked chicken wings, mild flavour, for CA$7.49/box...and oh I need some sausages and eggs as well. Will you buy some for me too?...Heeeheee!
