where does it start?
where does it end?
where did it begin?
i've got a son
he's a son of a gun
in this case that dont'e be no fun
always on the run
that son of a gun
he just turned 17
back when he turned 16
he had his last birthdays
locked aways
in jail
no bail
he takes after his dad
too bad
too sad
we both miss what we could've had
he's a young druggie
i've had that too's
my own baggage
my own boogie' blues
but alcohol
that was my call
drinks what i do's
that be my down fall
that's the truth
that's the lie
we each do, ruth
until we die
nice try
good-bye
that's the truth
that's the lie
we live till we die
nice try
good-bye
i smoked my share of the magical weed
took some other things i didn't need
so i just plead
my case
wish i could erase
that time in space
the uppers...the downers
the 1 more time aounders
lsd, mescalin
those days that make you thin
back when
'cause you always have to come around
to who you be
to who you see
to face your history
to face reality
i tried
i cried
most of them all
no smack, no crack
no heroin
no methamfedto me
no needle
to fiddle
with my veins
those drugs were way to insane
now barbituates
was what
i took to take me down
to bring me around
i liked those a lot
i lie to you not
give me some whiskey
and 2-n-ol
man that be riskey
afterall
we all take our fall
i saw some people today
they never understand the addicts way
they way we be
they will never see
they will never know
an addicts history
the way an addict be
cigarettes you can bets
nicotine... almost as good as morphine
the gateways
to hell you pays
cigareetts, weed
alcohol
afterall
1 leads to another
1 is the same as the other
oh brother
you will never find
that high you left behind
highs are not that kind
you will lose you mind
you will still have to face
reality
starin' you in the face
that just the way life be
that just be reality
it just be what it be
Reality

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt, got fat...I hear what your sayin' fair poet friend Steve...keep your poetry coming, no matter the subject matter, you are just speaking of the self, I know that feeling, and when I smoke the weed I do get much fatter...damn munchies...Peace bro', Jersey & Rufuz
I hope you will go to get some help, for no one should be lead through the nose by addiction of any kinds. You will not be happy until you're good and clear of additions.
The familiar lament of dual-career parents raising children is, "I just can't do it all." The Libra Solution provides an alternative - a more satisfying and sustainable work and life approach - to the overwrought modern day norm.

Good luck Steve!
