old dogs & whiskey

this one is espcially
for my friend ed & his friend rufus
a parahphrase
a copy if you will
but still
he & i & refus
and these few lines


i was sittin' in san anonio
sittin' all alone don't you know

pourin' whisky down
on that down side
when he came up beside
me ... just to see
whether it was just stormy weather
or if he might help me be

wheaher i was just pourin' 'em down
bein' from out of town
losin' a sound
that come's around
when the whiskey is all that can be found

he talked to me
about words i couldn't see
maybe they just be about me
whiskey & he
hearin' his sound

women & whiskey
they all be riskey
they get you friskey

and friends disappear
when them blues appear
don't show them your fear
don't shed a tear

"but old dog's & children
they be fine...
they don't mess with your mine
just give me watermellon wine"

even when the blue's are true
and keep comin' around
you done heard that sound

childen... bless there hearts
they are still pure of heart
before they are too smart to hate...
before their life is too late

and watermellown wine taste so fine
it's one thing that can blow your...
it will blow your mine"


but whiskey
is so risky
makes you friskey
whiskey makes you misty
