alcohol & me
we be
the best of friends
write up 'till it ends

he & me
we always be free
no matter
we be the mad hatter
he & i
we always give it one more try
we lie
to each other
and we try one more other
time
to find our rhyme
our tune
lookin' at the full moon
but soon
it's high noon
and he & me
we see
another day
done passed away

thinkin' & drinkin'
slinkin' & sinkin'
into the lost
payin' the cost
of her & her
and what were
we're never quite sure
about the blues'
never knowin' the true s
or the lies
only alcohol & i's
and good-byes
nice try's
or facin' the why's

see
alcohol & me
we be
who we are
that far distant star
a soulfull song
a Life gone wrong
long gone
a distant moon
an empty spoon
over too soon

alcohol & i
we never ponder why
we be
who we are
that distant star
in the sky
he & i
never wonder why
we just try
to see
the blue in gray
we just try to say
let the cards lay
where they play
or where they lie
he & me
we try
to live before we die
to be
alcohol & me

brothers, wives, children
too
will it ever end
haven't got a clue
but what do you do
with my old friend
except to write
try as i might
to get it right
it's always wrong
still the same old song
to sing
an angel with a broken wing
that's the thing
about alcohol & me
we never see
you take what Life has to bring
and then you let go
and you never know
Life's glow

alcohol & me
we see
eye to eye
as time passes us bye
he & i
we still try
just to get by
to be
to write
our own history
late at night
right
or wrong
he & me
write each our own
song

shown
the lost
shown
the past
known the cost
that will last
the pain
with no gain
not a grain
is that not insane

a drinker
a thinker
a drunk
who thunk
his way into this mystery
this history
of alcohol & me

day by day
passes it's way
into yesterday
nothing seems to stay
no word that play
no words to say
how it be
'bout alcohol & me
nor our history

that comes & goes
and who knows
who grows
who shows
the we's we see
or who we be's
alcohol & me's
nor the histories
we write late at night
wrong or right
outta' our sight
out of sound
who knows what we've found

into today's
and yesterday's
they passed away's
they passed their way's
into what they be
just alcohol & me

we just be
each our own history
he & me
he & i
guess we both gave it
our best try
shit
that is a lie
from he & i
from me to you
for once a true

sky's are blue
star's shine
the sun is up
the moon is fine
nuthin' worse
than an empty cup
yup
that be a curse
that be the worse
to see
other than alcohol & me

I can't judge you, Steve, but I can say that being addicted to alcohol ruins everything good in life and leaves you with nothing but another drink. I hope someday you will have the strength to walk away from that abusive friend if you should ever wish to.
Take care,
Sherry

This is a pretty good haiku? On alcoholism and that old devil in the bottle.
