it's the little things
the itty bitty things
that always brings
me a smile
like hearing children sings
and hummingbird wings
a sharp "yup, yup"
from a small pup
an old dog bark
twilight before dark
stray cats
and old hats
squirrels
a baby's curls
a rose
old men when they dose
yes, all of those,
help me walk the next mile
they make me smile
little girls & boys
playin' with some old toys
grass
a nice ass
a hearty "hello"
yellow
red
a soft bed
hot bread
a good book
a "come hither" look
poetry
a cup of coffee
a tree
a flower
some old church tower
yes, these too, all the while
make me smile
the Sun
women when they run
the Moon
an old silver spoon
a "soon"
sunrise
a surprise
a cloud
quiet, not loud
a sparkle in the eye
apple pie
a good cry
ice cream
a moonbeam
a cigarette
winning a bet
for a dollar or two
You
make me smile
And I am made to smile by your poetry...increasingly you have gotten better and better, where one time it might have been just so much ramblings (boy do I know how to ramble, LOL!) you have now gotten to a point where what you see, feel, hear, and touch is now what your poetry is about and I have to say, I LIKE IT A GREAT DEAL! You gotta do what you feel is right, write what you feel is you, and, as you have all along, never worry what others say...I love seeing you be you...Ed (& Rufuz)
