a soft shade of pink

as i was out walking
early today
all i felt stalking
were colors of gray

for up in the sky
from low to high
all that was passing by
were dark clouds
ominus gray shrouds

from North to South to West
tho i did my best
all i could see
there all around me
all that did surround me
was gray
this day

then,
when i did turn
to return
i felt my heart burn
for there in the East
was a feast
for my eyes

for there in the skys
to my surprise
where there had been a sunrise
the dark gray did fade
into a pale shade
the hard gray did sink
into a soft shade of pink

tho' it was but a sliver
it made my heart quiver
it made me smile
while all the while
as i walked a long mile
just to think
that in a blink
the dark gray did sink
the hard gray did fade
into a shade
a soft shade of pink
