January...
of which i am alwaays wary
or is it weary
sometimes teary
sometimes bleary
this year
it brings a moment near...

in January 2001
my writing had begun
before
i had opened a door
to my soul
in search of my whole
but...
i was in a rut
i typed
i hyped
on an old portable typewriter
seeking to be
to see
the poetry in me

then...
just when
i wasn't sure what to do
(as if i now have a clue)
i found
a new sound
i new part of me

i've written a few
(about 2500)
i've said my due
some were blue
some were red
which were red
some were yellow
mellow
some were angry
just showing me
some were rainbows
when i didn't knows
some were black
cut me no slack
some were white
when the write
was right

a rhyme
a rhythmn
a song
a singer
a poet
a drunk
a father
a son
a husband
a bachelor
an sob
just me

and thru it all
up & after a fall
you heard my call...

to the ends
of The Rope
