what i write
ain't what i is
well, maybe 'tis
maybe 'taint
i just try ta' paint
a picture in my mind
of what i find
layin around
maybe a sound
maybe a ryhme
maybe a time
maybe a rythmn
maybe an "-ism"
and how i spell
can't ever tell
maybe it's wrong
maybe it's right
figger we all read by sight
if i turn a phrase
and it creates a daze
gets lost in the haze
that's ok
it just may
be the way
it's meant to be
it's meant to see
the sight, the sound
of what goes round
of what i've found
out on the town
so please don't frown
when i write it down
maybe i'm glad
when i say it sad
maybe i'm mad
but that ain't bad
'cause what i write
ain't what i is
it's just part
a' this poetry biz
