stark Reality
of just how terminal
Life can be.

it's outta' Love.
we pass 'em on
ta' Heaven Above.
steada' hangin' on
& on & on.
True Love shown
by sendin' 'em
to the unknown.
that promises ta' be Better.
just wish they could
send me a letter
when they get There.
That Heavenly Place
up there in the air.

steve, this is a profound, deep write! my daddy had to make that decision about mom when she was so sick after heart surgery; and he wisely let her go. now, i still miss her today, nearly 13 years later (it will be 13 years come st. patrick's day, when she died), but i believe that she is better off because daddy chose to stop her suffering, especially when things didn't look good for her. my brother also had to make this same painful decision about his wife of 25 years; and it is always a painful and agonizing decision. if i were tethered to tubes i would want to be taken off; i don't want to suffer when i die! let me die painlessly, quickly, and peacefully; that is my dearest hope! as long as i get to see jesus, that's all that matters to me! love, your friend in texas, karen lynn. mm very nice. The title is interesting. The style is very prosaic but poetic at the same point. It seems to be a sketch of a thought and its wrought out well in the words.

I know how much this one must have hurt to have to make.. thank God you had the strength to do it..
(((HUGS)))), steve, for this perceptive write...i used to be a medic in the air force, i saw so many people affected by the decision whether or not to have the patient rescucitated if they coded...do i or don't i, will the patient have any kind of chance of a normal life? if it were me, i'd want any chance to live, if i was guaranteed to have a normal life...if i were going to be kept alive by machinery for an extended period of time, with no chance for a full recovery, then i'd rather they'd let me die...thank you for posting this...(((HUGS))) and love, karla. :(
