in my head
& i was lead
ta' get outta' bed

write it down
but,
i's sleepin' too sound
figgered' i catch it
on the re-bound

figgered i'd catch it later

missed the moment
missed the time
missed that rhyme
that One True
oh well,
missed you too

words come around
with their own sound
miss 'em
then they go
too slow
no mo'
you'll never know
what was their glow

if it was right
that paricular write
then i was wrong
ta' miss that song
gueess it didn't belong
it was long gone

but,
it was night
& i was tired
wadn't that wired
the gun never fired
those words never hired

so,
hope it comes again
then we can begin
ta' find the end
of that thought
of that 'ought

maybe
it was just a bought
maybe
it was just a sought
or sold
'sumpin' new
sumpin' old

guess i wrought
what i wrote
that night
not one note

late last night
i had a thought
