my Life
filled with happiness & with strife
sometimes the Light so bright
that i'd lose sight
sometimes It cut me like a knife
guess that's just been my Life
sometimes fat, sometimes thin
never thinkin' it would end
never botherin'
to look within
afrid of what i might find then
too often run & gun
always reachin' for the Fun
burnin' out like the Sun
burnin' out 'till i was done
too seldom did i Enjoy
fearin' it was just a ploy
always wantin' a new Toy
unable to appreciate the moments of Joy
family & friends
i've watched 'em come to their ends
not grateful for the blessings
of whatever GOD sends
never lettn' old wounds mend
i've had my share
of love & lost
seldom allowing my Self to Care
seldom thinking of the Cost
nor the Price i'd pay
kept on doin' it My Way
but, Today
i can say
my Life's just been
My Life
but then agin'
ain't that what Life Be
