sometimes the Light so Bright
sometimes i'd lose sight
got lost in the "if's" & "mights"
too many lonely nights

sometimes it cut me like a knife
with all it's happiness & strife
just tryin' ta' live my Life
when tryin' wasn't 'enuuf
that's when things get pretty 'tuff
when Life calls your bluff

too often run & gun
always reachin for the Sun
always seekin' new fun
burnin' out 'till i was done

too seldom did i Enjoy
fearin' it was all just a ploy
always wantin' a new Toy
unable to appreciate the moments Joy

family & friends
i watched all come to their ends
not grateful for what GOD sends
never lettin' old wounds mend

seldom allowing my Self to Care
seldom allowing my Self to Share
seldom thinkin' of the Cost
only regretting what i'd Lost

payin' the Price i had to pay
for always doin' It my Way

but Today
i've come to see
that's just been the Way for me
not the only way to Be

and so it is i Pray
GOD, grant me one more day
so i can finish
this One Act Play
