(This poem is dedicated to my Dad. My Mom passed away a few months back & it's been hard on him. Very hard. Wednesday, October 8th would have been/is there 65th wedding anniversary. I've seen the hurt & loss in his eyes & in his heart, and so i wrote this poem. He's a strong man & doesn't show his emotions easily... but i can see them in his eyes. anyway, that's why i wrote this...for both my Dad & my Mom- steve)
when Someone so Dear
with whom you've spent so many years
is no longer Near
when they've passed on
when that song is gone
GOD gave us Tears
when we feel the Loss
when we know the Cost
when we feel Lost
when we feel Fears
GOD gave us Tears
when our heart aches
for old Love's sake
when we need to break
when we need GOD to Hear
GOD gave us Tears
no matter how Big a man
nor how Tall you stand
Understand
to wash away our hurts & Fears
GOD gave us Tears
to Cry
makes you no less a man
that's When GOD takes your hand
that's when GOD is Near
that's Why
GOD gave us Tears
to Ease our pain
to help us regain
our stability
GOD gave us the Ability
To Cry
Yes he did, a release valve, and a necessary part of grieving. Bravo to you, for this would of been a hard write, well done

Oh if more men could understand this sweetie. it is so sad that society put such a hold ontheir emotions. Tears are such an important part of the grieving process as well as the healing process. Please give your dad my love.

be there for him...as i am for my dad--my mom died 13 years ago, and how i miss her still
daddy does, too...although he's remarried, his heart still holds a special place for mom
