I really wish I could give a higher rating than ten on this one. One thing I've learned about the magic of writing is that when we write the question, the answer will follow. You hit the nail on the head when phrasing disease as dis*ease, because that's exactly what it is. Giving up old ways isn't easy at all - whether it's drinking, smoking or other addictions. The fact that you're looking for answers is a great indication that you'll find them. I wish you the best of luck.
