While floating above my body
this is what I see
a girl who is crumpled
a girl who is sleepless
fighting with a fiend

the monster lives inside me
It calls my brain its home
it drains me of my joy and rest
and rarely leaves me alone

for this is a battle I must endure
if I want to see daylight
a battle between life and death
for me a constant fight

for this girl who is crumpled
used to be strong
she had the willpower
to go on and on

but now she does not sleep
and her eyes no longer weep
she gets out of bed
with this monster in her head

she continues living
'cause that's all there is to life
she has slashes on her arms
signs of the strife
