Poem Artwork

When you look at me like that

I will always cherish our time on the beach,
White sand, soothing surf, sun setting,
You appeared out of no where it seemed,
Instant attraction, our eyes did lock,
Heart beats pattering within each.

But you left me, our time was little,
Your legs scurried away so quickly,
Though, I will always remember you,
And never think of you as a crab,
Just an adorable creature playing his fiddle.

Yes, indeed. Thank you for sending me over here. I hadn't come back to AD when you posted this juicy piece. (Little nasty play on words, dere) Sometimes a chance, quick meeting is enough for what it is, don't ya think?

What magic of coincidence: Just this morning I was watching HD Theatre's "Sunrise Earth" on TV where the camera sat posed on a tranquil beach in Costa Rica. One item of interest: An active sand crab, a fellow remarkably like your posted picture.

From now on, I'll save TV time and simply come straight to your den site, Christine. You obviously know what I want.

And "When you look at me like that"-- Just look at them eyes, will ya?

Christine, your work is always unique and interesting.

Richard

As I have stated in past I always prior to reading an author's latest work, go look at their profile picture (at least the ones who have one) it gives me a sense of who the writer is and often tells so much about them that often adds to the reaction I have to their write. I did it before reading this poem as well and I had to smile a bit at your picture for it almost seemed that you were staring back at the picture of the crab with a bemused smile. Loved it Christine and as always look forward to seeing your name come up.

Christine,

What a clever and unusual metaphor comparing a lost love, though brief to a crab in the sand. Very nicely written

This reminds me of how crabs walk. :o)
They walk sideways to the left, or to the right, kicking little stones out of their ways like they are the obstacles in their lives.

A thought-provoking piece!!
