There is goodness in the world.

I hear it in a whisper from the other side of the world
where brave young men would humble themselves
and risk their very lives for homeless orphans
caught in the crossfire of rulers and rebels
and the righteous who have forgotten:
the only revolution that really matters
is that of our common future
reflected in a child’s eyes.
Look for it there and
you will see

   …there is goodness in the world.

I saw it in a vision that began in the heart of a child
and was released into the very hands of God
through a prayer voiced in simple words
and bathed in love. In this vision, the
One Great Spirit breathed peace and
grace into the winds we warriors
have contaminated with worldly
lust for power and control.
Listen to the wind and
you will hear

   …there is goodness in the world.

I dreamed it in a smile that broke through your angry
silence and lit your face with a joy that sparked
something that has been so long dead in me.
And, in the effort it took to find forgiveness
in your heart and acceptance for
what was, is, and will yet be, you
found forgiveness, freedom, too,
beyond your wildest dreams.
Search your heart and
you will know
