In beginning: God walked through Eden’s tainted garden, sullied by man’s*fateful choice, without pardon, to sin, hide.
In decades past: modernity’s machinations, vast armies amassed, marching to illusion of victory.
In these, our days: steel towers burning fall; children innocent run to a mother’s arms, call out for water, life.
In future hour: the groans, the wails, lamentations rising up from all peoples, from the land itself – bloodied, torn.
In distant skies: creation’s Captain issues fresh call for peace. Strength, our manna, like kisses fall from blue beyond.
And in the end: God’s amazing grace abounds, opportunity for redemption of our race if we live in love.
* “Man” is used here in the sense of humankind, male and female. Whoever sinned first or worst, we’re all in this together. Consider use of the masculine mere poetic license.
Hello Dawn, very interesting piece. Yes, love is the answer but quite a few people don't quite get it. Love isn't all about others, it's moreso about protecting self. Living any other way makes the path of least resistance the road to hell. l&p G

How beautiful, poem and art. Thank you for sharing.
I love your amazing artwork, Dawn, of the Angel with the bugle on the cusp of time, perhaps?! Just guessing, but we sure do need to hear your rallying call! Interestingly, the Bible also talks about God responding to "the trumpet call in Zion" - the cries of His people when they are DESPERATE enough to admit their own helplessness and beseech His intervention. I guess, if there's going to be no legislation imposed upon us from the outside to "live in love", we just have to take matters into our own hands and vote with our... hearts! A focussed, prophetic piece. TY Kate xx
