An inseparable duo – twin dolphins diving in a crystal sea navigate sharp turns in unison then speed upward to rupture thin membrane between their world and ours.
They hang, their graceful motion momentarily suspended in sparkling sunshine, as we wonder at their sleek beauty and intelligence. They nod in acknowledgement.
Our laughter fills balmy Floridian skies where dolphin spirits fly and for a moment their world becomes ours. But you are hungry for success and driven
by a fear that does not exist in their deeper calm. You have learned to attack before others devour your heart. You forget you are a dolphin.
Shark-like, you are racing, always racing somewhere. You have no time to be still and look puzzled by my references to our long-lost crystal sea.

I agree with Erin, I felt totally different at the beginning
of this poem then at the ending. A great testament of your
superb talent to write a poem with a dual nature.
I love the 'bent' you take in the last two verses, Dawn, you totally shattered my dreamy sea-life as I became a dolphin, and threw me in with the sharks... These last lines, they ache with such human emotion, I was left breathless with loss.
