Fiddle On, Trickster Fool

Hey,
meddler,
fixer,
juggler man,

go,
do your
thing, fast
as you can.

One
ball, two
balls, three
balls or more…

This
routine
I used
to adore,

’til
your show
left me
in a jam

your
good deeds
exposed
as a sham.

I’ve
watched you
snake your
way into

the
purest
heart, a
spirit true ,

and
corrupt
with lies,
dripping, sweet.

Blind
I was
when first
we did meet.

Duped,
beguiled
by soft
whispers, wound

’round
your charmed
life, long
I slept sound.

How
could I
know, your
passionate

plea
to save
my life
would end it

so
quickly
for me?
Hissing that

you
thought it
best, you
tipped your hat

and
slithered
away,
leaving me

lost,
full of
regret,
spoiled, empty.

In
the name
of love,
you play on –

no
friend, no
helper;
just a con.

Pssst.
It’s high
time you
surrender,

Dark
Lord of
Lies, Great
Pretender.

Sink
your teeth
into
fruitful game;

play
on for
fortune
and for fame.

Watch
out! Don’t
trip; don't
you slumber,

’cause
baby
I’ve got
your number.

Did
you think
when I
was falling,

soon
enough
she will
be calling?

No?
Surprise!
When you
least expect,

I
shall rise.
Hope shall
resurrect.

But
it is
God who
will reveal

what
you have
sought to
hide, conceal.

So,
as you
wow a
naive world,

your
flag of
goodness
full, unfurled,

be
prepared.
God will
unmask you

as
trickster
friend you’ve
been. You’re through.

Bon
voyage.
Farewell.
And Adieu.

Dawn, it is true that we all someday will truly be known for who we really are. It is sad that there are those who have not a clue of themselves and in turn, feed off others in order to survive. Another great write here...

Good for you, Dawn! Sometimes we get fooled, it is true, but when we find out, it is time to kick their sorry butt repeatedly until they are wallowing in the gutter where they belong. Some people are just "Sweet Scum" and we are taken in by their surface charms. Lots of power from your pen on this page.
Take care,
Sherry

Quite the jiggler, this snake. Would you go for his jugular, slice off a ball or two?

Trust is a precious thing...Leaves nothing behind when it is broken. Once it's broken, we can never look at that same friend in the same way again.

Well-written and well-said piece, Dawn!

Its a bit of a shock when we learn someone we trust is a trickster. Painful. Leaves one not wanting to trust again. Great capture and I like your powerful come back. :-)
