In the second-story classroom at 3 p.m. three years ago today he stared at the green horizon, chalk in his left hand, eraser held high in his right, ready to strike out.
He wore ensemble #3, collared shirt, dark pants, comfortable shoes – all so practical, predictable, like the sure, stale scent of his aftershave, the clang of the radiator.
A bell screamed, interrupting thought, amalgamation of voices and noise. Enough! He hurled the eraser through a broken window into the blue, shook chalk dust off and broke away.
'Clap, clap' on this extra-fine poetic write ... very clever!!

you formulate this very well... so much that the breaking away is much more felt than it would have been if you didn't build us up to it... I like the 3 motif... ;)
