Elementally flawed and far
beyond the reach of alchemy,
the matter of me is not easily solved.

In dissolute repair, I sit.
I pray. I wait. I cry inside,
a self-contained system of decay.

Lodged lumpy and lead-like
in my beaker-like existence,
I've little breakout potential.

Neither the gods of science
nor true Source of self seem to see:
I'm in dire need of solvent.

Enough of experiment
and hocus-pocus proclamations.
I demand to be solution.

Well, out of darkness comes this BRILLIANT LIGHT! You here turn a doom-and-gloom into piercing rays of intelligent inspiration to shatter the "prison cell", for a start. The concepts, the language, the hypertensility of the structure... this bounces, Dawn, even if the subject-matter is gloopy! Very, very clever without any self-awareness or pretension; part of its considerable strength is the tautness and clarity. A very visceral write that is far from viscous - it is a grand "poetic utterance", as my tutor might say - that seems so well-hinged that its whole "falling onto the page" seems one of effortless and inevitable ease. Very well done - as others have said, you are be the source of your own solution! Bless you and thank you, Kate xx

With your brilliance comes the opposite which allows the doubts to consume...if you let them...but you won't! Right?;-) Superb poem Dawn!

The answer lies within, Dawn. Sounds like an extended commune with Nature is in order! Powerfully expressed.

Glue sniffing won't help. Just make a sticky situation.

Dawn only knows the answer. With Gods help..

Science is not the panacea that was once believed..
