Forward Flow of Hope: Just a Dream

In the world of dreams
where there is a way around and beyond
the lies and the last words and the loneliness
that has turned me to stone,
you come like water
and smooth the rough places
and quench this thirst I’ve lived with for so long.
You flow through me. River of hope that you are,
you search out all the pockets of promise
then fill me with some elixir
of sparkling second chance
It is just a dream, but it is
my dream and you
are my hope.

My soul knows that much,
and I can feel myself walking through this world
as if it were a dream, as if you, my heart,
my hope, would flow to me
and water my life
with love.

Sounds like you have a heart that KNOWS where to find its source and its refreshing, Dawn. Keeping it watered and fleshily swollen means that it will eternally pump with hope and love - because that is its nature. A beautiful, ascendent rise of a poem that has eagles' and doves wings together! :)) Tender and nurturing, thank you. Kate xx

this poem is really beautiful, Dawn ... hope is not a dream unless we abandon it ... it the river of life that fills the streams of our desires ...

Dawn, this is an excellent poetic pleasing treasure, which I do believe easily illustrates the importance of never letting go of ones dreams and desires. As long as there is hope, life and love will continue to flourish. Thank you for sharing your wonderful work. It was a pleasure to read. Take care and be well.

Good piece of writing, Dawn. While we can live without food for a while, the lack of water will kill us in a matter of hours. Great metaphoric reference.

Dawn, I agree with Eileen. This one is Outstanding! I could feel the arrid, parched desert of your heart and soul, that has longed...thirsted for that elixir of a second chance. And then to have that thirst quenched, and relief to come and flow like water to restore life, love, and promises fulfilled. sighhhhh. Love, Leah~

Dawn this poem is outstanding!I love the concept of him watering your life with love. That is as precious as water in a desert.
