Some days I feel restricted, squeezed by circumstance, and I am suffocating beneath the slimy twisting mass of a salivating world that wants to suck the soul from me. The light is gone. My breathing has become shallow as the grave where I imagine they'll find my bones brittle, broken.
Yet there come moments, even on the days when I can't get out from under all my hungry problems pressing down, when my soul expands somehow and magnifies in song that grace, amazing love through which God whispers endlessly, "I'm here. Cast your cares on me." Then, I rise, fly far and flutter free.
