In the sight of colored leaves blowing,
In the sound of children’s voices singing,
In the smell of fresh-boiled peanuts, and
In the taste of pecan pie,
In the of touch of your hand,
however fleeting it might have been,
I found a moment’s grace.
And nobody can take it away
when I celebrate the day.

So don’t mind me while I run in circles
flinging leaves up toward blue skies,
giddy and oozing joy that has been
a long time coming to me
and will surely be on its way before
I am ready to lose it again and weep.
So, never mind your speech on reality.
Just let me play finders, keepers,
celebrate one grace-filled day.

Splendid Dawn, for the day brings much joy, and may the weeping be held further at bay. Enjoyed the care free read.

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
