I wish you didn’t have to see me
like this, legs curled, arms wrapped tight
around me for what small protection,
peace of mind it may bring tonight.
But I am too tired to pretend,
and I trust what it is I know of you –
enough to know you will be a friend,
if only to light my way from afar.
You are a pulsing star, alive, and
you pull me out, beyond this black hole
into a world wider than I remembered.
You sing me the song of my soul.
The words seem unfamiliar;
the tune I know – a harmonic rhapsody
in blue with flecks of gold. How strong
you sing my life on night sky’s starry sea!
With sure voice, you part dark waters
effortlessly and cast far a vision clear.
See, there, a glint of re-imagined hope
reflected in this wayward tear!

The imagery you use...'a pulsing star'...i never thought of it like that but the concept is so accurate. You've captured what it is to have someone that you don't have to hide anything from, you can be as you are and their love is steady. It's a priceless connection.
The wonderful thing about the light of this pulsing star may be that it is shed without hint of judgement or remonstrance; just receive it, bathe in it; refresh in it and be reborn from the curled foetal state, uncurling like that special last-summer rose! :)) I love the way you bring crystal and sharp perspectives and light into this starry, starry night. A soft, velvety write, Dawn, thank you - and for your love and support. LOL Kate xx
