Your Spirit Is Catching

Self-made man of poetry, your galactic mind
is ever-expanding and enlightening. You leave me
starry-eyed, dizzy with a desire to discover
new worlds beyond this sphere where
we break bread daily.

Perhaps it is only my wild imagination
you’ve brought to such unimagined heights
that has me wishing you would explore
an ocean infinity I sense stirring
within our hearts.

I find you, always, a rock to cling to
in the midst of a mindstorm I could not navigate
alone. And you are gracious in spirit,
beckoning, welcoming me
into your presence.

Though I am uncertain of whether I belong
to this place or another, my spirit reawakens anew
in echo of the words you write. I breathe in
the love you are and find my footing.
Your spirit is catching.

You speak of greatness indeed, Dawn. Such are those who are truly inspirational: wise, gracious, welcoming and always gratuitously humble and with a lack of self-awareness. Such are great teachers and leaders, by example, mainly. How many spirit-holders, lamp-bearers can we think of who are probably totally unaware of the light that just beams out of them and all around, shedding much-needed hope and vision along our way? Guess the more we are thus able to absorb ourselves, then the more WE ourselves have to share in our turn. Hopefully we are all "upwardly mobile" in this respect?! But to each his/her own gift; we all are unique and have specifics only true of ourselves that can bless and be the much-needed source of light to those to whom that speaks. You are yourself a source of such nurture to us here, Dawn.... make no mistake. Shine on! :)) LOL and bless you, Kate xx
