I am standing still
in the center of the mall and staring
deep into some existential space yet to be defined.

People zig and zag
from point to point, and the buzz makes me
giddy and all atingle if slightly dizzied.

The longer I remain
fixed and focused, the less I am distracted
by the drone of drama that swirls and surrounds me.

In the moment I become
untouched and pure and perfect, and it doesn’t
matter that I’ve been poked and pushed and prodded.

Children of the world are
softly singing from somewhere
beyond the reach of the loudspeaker.

I stare into white so long
I see your eyes like stars and lose
myself in the middle of a massive crowd.

But I find everything
that ever mattered to me when
I drop my bags and welcome revelation.

Degree by degree, I turn,
ready to lay me down in love, a radius
to be squared and multiplied by mystery or pi.

Were I to become a bridge
and a promise kept, peace might yet reign
in our sphere, filled with busy-ness and mindless chatter.

In time, I will see you again,
great king, gentle shepherd. I will be your
queen, strong, centered, able to hear the song of your heart.

In the middle of the mall, I find
my bearings, hone in on hope, waiting forever
to let go of much and many for the joy of one great love.

Sometimes it happens just like that and you've conveyed the presence and revelation beautifully. I love it when it comes this way. ~~Nordette

Kind of like walking through rain drops isn't it. Great pen on the struggles of Xmas shopping. Have a Merry Xmas.

That flash of clarity and sense of importance within the grand scheme of it all can strike at any time and leave us standing in a fog, transfixed upon something or somewhere much greater than where we are. Suddenly our purpose becomes clear and our destiny defined. Excellent write! and as Kate says...(gawd I hate to follow Kate, she does the very best reviews) you have made clear something that we all experience but are at a loss to put into words.
Take care,
Sherry

YES, YES, YES!!!! I KNOW this - but I would have been at a loss to put it into words, Dawn! Just brilliant and you have taken us through this mystery so as to be able to describe it, make it tangible and real to anyone who might be at a loss to understand how it is with the sudden unfolding of such things. This has energy, and for me is yet in slow-mo... very cinematic. A bag-dropping moment in life! Awesome, thank you... and yes... drop all the bags and RUN to that one all-consuming and all-forgiving love in life... I do... FREQUENTLY!!! This is a "magic" write. Love it. TY and a very peaceful and blessed Christmas, Sweet One. Kate xx

Dawn this is outstanding in depth and beauty of thought!
I love the ability you have to merge your feelings that
are so mixed from the stress of the world and serenity of Him!

Merry Christmas to you and yours, have a blessed day!
Love,
Eileen

I was out today and people were really ziggin' and zaggin'.
A delightful story poem, Dawn, and you created the mood beautifully.
