2:22 – I trace neon numbers on bedside clock as I have so many nights for so many years and lie awake thinking about your choice to sleep through all the signs and wonders even as I stood witness to silent crucifixion of dream we shared. How I stumbled through the time between, growing uncertain of some resurrection day, torn, hope tossed into and consumed by flame of night. Shall I deny knowing and free myself as you have seemed to do?
Single ring of the telephone tells me tonight your path has led elsewhere, rather than released you wholly from what you always knew to be the truth. Even as the echo fades into the recesses of my mind, I feel faint outline of you rise in me. A resonating image draws me magnetically to the force of love imprinted deep in my soul’s memory, and I know what I know and cling to the knowing – 2:22.
