You loved my mind and were
fascinated by
the backward way it works.
You watched me drawing
spirals in reverse
and called it genius.
Marvellng at my mind fullness,
it's symphonic orchestration,
you emptied out your heart,
wildly skipping beats
at the sight of me
spilling secrets
and utterly
undone.
You even stole
a riff or two, replaying the drama
of my mind's kamikaze death dive
as an exclusive on the pristine screen
hidden in the chamber
of your heart.
I loved your heart and sank
into pillowed comfort,
lost my mind, reduced to mush.
I found long-awaited soul
awakening as I
recognized your heart's singular beat,
having long carried its memory
and listened age after age
for something reminiscent of
its reverberant cadence,
calling me back to
hope beyond hope,
truth reborn
from love.
You took my breath
away with whispered kindness;
but, in the end refused to share your salve,
to sing the tune that might have carried
across deep canyon
of my mind.
