Had you any glimmer
of all I have given to God,
surrendered to fulfill
the mission he gave us
then you might truly tremble
and be bothered to lift
a finger to assist.
There are no more dark
closets where you might
hide from God's light.
All will be pierced through,
presented and brought to bear
in service to the whole and
now I must do my duty.
I have borne above all the
endless crucifixions created
again and again by your choice
for separation from self and love.
Please, please spare me now
this anguish of raising sword
of truth at God's request.
Using Calgary as a backdrop the author satirizes the self-serving nature of the public as it continues to fatten itself, not only physically, but egotistically as well.
