Tonight beside the still waters
God speaks to me in clouds
and the geese cry out for
I am spent and tears
left me long ago.
He has prepared me to begin
should you choose this end
and commanded me not
to warn you of what
you already know.
And I cannot cry for what may be
or what has been. I cannot
grieve what you do and
do not do, though silently I
beg him, "Let me go home."
They have sent the giant angel
instead of you though they
tell me he will hold me
when the tears fall and
morning breaks again.
I ask him without speaking
what of all the love we
were to share around
the world and through
our love. And then the
angel cries, speaks not.
I beseech God of my salvation
to take now this senseless sight
of you with your most recent
someone in my place, this feeling,
the stabs in my body, those
Sounds of your voice I love
speaking falsehood to one
you find favor in, forgetting me
for she you would make your queen
of diamonds if not hearts.
I ask them to spare you
all you bring upon yourself.
The angel will have nothing
of it and God's sword pierces
to the heart of me.
I bend and return to honor
as the angel kisses me.
But I tire of being kissed
by angels and fear I
can bear no more.
I love you and I will send
only love to you this night
and to the one who if you insist
will play her part, unknowing
perhaps. God be with you now.

Questions, unquestioned discoveries, and answers in parable and rhyme…. This collection records a journey starting with a 1960s retrospective and the first man on the moon, moving to a new millennium welcomed in with a terrorist spin, family crises,
